Marianne Ferrer

Born in Venezuela and raised in Montreal, Marianne Ferrer has known that drawing would be her life's calling since she first picked up a crayon at the age of three. First scribbling dinosaurs, animals, and fantastical creatures, then doodling on her desk and in the margins of her notebooks all the way through high school, she eventually pursued a degree in Illustration and Design from Dawson College as well as a BA in Graphic Design from Université de Québec à Montréal.

She has fully immersed herself in the world of illustration and has not put down her pencil and watercolours since. Marianne focuses primarily on children's literature. She is passionate about the use of images and words to create unique, inviting, and charming universes for kids to learn about the world and themselves.

Marianne is a lifelong creator and is always trying out new techniques, new hobbies, and DIYing what she can. She loves exploring all sorts of creative media. She also enjoys hiking with her husband—though she'll just as happily spend an afternoon on the couch with him and their two cats.
